CAPODISTRIAS IN CORFU

Ioannis Capodistrias spent most of his life in Corfu, from his birth in 1776 until 1808, apart from a three-year absence in Italy for studies (1794-1797). In 1808, when he was 32 years old, he left for Russia to begin his diplomatic career in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
